Nounou – a lifelong nickname of the designer – is where ephemeral inspirations have taken shape in an exciting reality. Nounou is a celebration of femininity and enjoying the touch of the sun on your skin.Â
The products bring a fresh perspective on swimwear that draws on memories and emotions as much as it does quality and attention to detail. All swimwear styles are named with numbers, which are the birthdays of the women who encouraged and supported the founder through the process of creating the brand.
Luxury Swimwear Sourcing, Build and Production with BodywearLab
We were approached by Nounou’s founder to help them source, build and produce their swimwear collection. Nounou’s founder came to us with swimwear designs and a clear idea of what she wanted to produce. All of her designs were inspired by her childhood memories, her summer holidays with her French-Italian mother wearing a cotton bikini in the 70’s.
SOURCING
All products from Nounou’s different collections are custom-dyed to create unique colours that resonate with the brand’s identity.
Fabrics were sourced from Italy, including quick-drying double-layer stretch performance jerseys for a second-skin fit and lightweight woven Italian cotton for an airy feel as well the use of woven Italian cotton contributed to the creation of swim pieces with an airy and lightweight feel, enhancing comfort for wearers.
BUILD
Collaborative efforts were made to translate the founder’s vision into tangible swimwear designs. The signature seashell clasp, a recurring feature in Nounou’s pieces, was incorporated into all designs to maintain brand consistency. Emphasis was placed on building a collection that captures the essence of extraordinary summer experiences, as envisioned by the founder.
PRODUCTION
The entire production process was conducted in London, in the UK with a focus on craftsmanship and distinctive design elements so that everyone can truly feel extraordinary every time they wear a Nounou swimpiece.
Throughout production, the focus remained on delivering swimwear that embodies the brand’s ethos of uniqueness and exceptional experiences.
