Luxury Sustainable Swimwear
Authentic and joyful, sustainable swimwear brand Adriatika combines chic and clever cuts that are responsibly made with locally crafted design elements for a truly unique garment. Inspired by the founder’s South African and Croatian roots, the collection boasts delicate and charming hand-beaded jewellery, crafted by tribes close to her parent’s home. The detachable jewellery completes the designs to form a collection of unique and authentic swimwear made from sustainable materials.
Luxury Swimwear Design, Build and Production with Bodywear Lab
The founder started the brand when she noticed there was a gap in the market for sustainable and ethical swimwear that was still chic, trendy, unique and beautiful. She also wanted to give back, to both the planet and to marginalised communities. She came to Bodywear Lab needing our design expertise to create flattering swimwear designs that exuded fun and colour. We designed a unique pattern to compliment the hand-crafted aesthetic of the beaded jewellery, focusing on playing with geometric shapes, sharp lines and inverted angles, mirroring the weaving techniques of the jewellery.
Our sourcing specialist was then able to find the most luxurious and eco-friendly fabric for the swim pieces, Oeko-Tex-certified Italian ECONYL®. Nylon waste and pollutants such as discarded fishing nets are transformed into ECONYL® which is a regenerated nylon that can be recycled, recreated and remoulded again and again. ECONYL® is also twice as resistant to chlorine and suntan creams and oils than competitors’ fabrics.
Branding, Marketing and PR with HYSCULPT
Adriatika also came to the HYSCULPT team, requiring their support in building out the brand identity, creating a strong logo, colour palette, and web and social aesthetics that reflected the founder’s Mediterranean and African heritage and inspiration. When developing Adriatika’s logo, we wanted the brand to feel luxurious and timeless, yet still carry an element of free-spirited nature that reflects the brand identity. We incorporated visuals that represented the artisan jewellery such as different-sized circles with lines running through the middle to suggest the thread of the jewellery. This unique imagery could also be separated and used on its own as a signifier, offering further opportunities for branding diversity.
We also redesigned the website and social media feed, using the new colour palette we crafted which is filled with bright and bold colours such as fuschia, teal, yellow and navy. We built upon the brand identity with imagery that expressed individualism, freedom and tropical ecosystems, all elements that make up Adriataika’s unique personality. We also used images from the e-comm photoshoot which we helped manage and produce, creating visuals that display the garments beautifully whilst expressing the brand’s unique identity.

Adriatika also sought out our industry expertise for business support. We were able to offer valuable one-to-one strategy sessions to go through the structure of the business and identify any areas of concern that required extra attention. Our consultancy team were able to help the founder create their business plan and strategize how to effectively execute on growing the business and smashing goals. Adriatika was also looking for support with generating sales and working collaboratively, we were then able to establish a pricing strategy for wholesale as well as a professional lookbook that could be used in pitches to potential investors and buyers.
